The day was perfect, even got a 'Handicap Car Park' (I'm entitled to one) right at the wharf and the trip was beautiful.
We had booked a bus tour of the island and it proved to be the best for us, especially me! Col, the driver ,and commentator was a long term resident and knew all the spots to take us to and about, birds, flowers, trees, history and funny stories. He could turn his little bus around on a 5cent piece and gutters didn't mean a thing to him, he would turn us around so we could get the best view. Very highly recommended. It was Hop on Hop off to look , see, take photos, be informed and one place he led us into a walking path in rain forest and as we walked we disturbed butterflies by the thousands..... Oh it was sooo pretty.
We had a 1 hour stop for lunch at the main beach , we all added to the economy of the island and sat under the fig/banyan trees beside the ocean to eat it. A charmed life.
We were taken to see the fish population in a spot where Col fed them bread and they were jumping as as they saw him. Also had carrots to feed the rock wallabies
There are so many 'balanced rock' formations all around the island.
Our last stop was to a small Aquarium set up by a man who has become an expert on the Giant Clams, pay $3 and see his display of beautiful fish and a Giant Clam.
Home to the Van after another day of 'Touristism' (is that a word?) sounded good and was good.
