We didn't know if we were driving through the Black Forest in Germany or through The Black Spur in Victoria. How blessed are we.
We are here for 5 nights then on to Cairns for 12 nights. We will do a lot of touring at both of these places as we want to make the most of having come this far north. We tried to get a booking at Port Douglas or Mossman but they are booked out.
We have just poured over the brochures tonight and planned the next few days, there is so much beauty to see, waterfalls, Neranda Tea Plantation, The Curtain Fig Tree, a Cheese & Chocolate Farm!, Historic Herberton Village (looks like Sovereign Hill type of place), Chinatown and Platypus Park.
AND I HAVE TO GO TO THE SCRAPBOOKING SHOP I HAVE SPIED,!!
Did a restock at the IGA Supermarket- wow - it was the nicest Supermarket I have been in. I just loved the smell of the fresh fruit & veg, especially after the last days of tin veg!!! I couldn't find dried prunes so asked an employee and she said 'keep shopping and I will bring you what I find' back she came, suggested the best buy and then even went and got me 4 of them. Talk about great service. I told her what a beautiful shop it was and my reaction to the fruit & veg - she said "thank you so much, my hubby is the owner, we don't usually come in at weekends but like to make spot checks sometimes. We won the top IGA in Australia 4 years ago. How about that?
Photos are taken as we drove through the "Schwarzwald " and as I waited for Brian to book in.
