7th July 155k of enthralling scenery!



I start with a photo of the road from Normanton to Croydon ......

Yes 155k, it was an empty road with the occasional mob of Brahman cattle in the bush.
It's only in the low 30s, but if you can be in the shade the breeze is just beautiful.
Croydon Queensland is an old gold mining area, in the late 1800s it was a big and thriving community now it is a Museum town with a very good information centre, we watched a video of the history. Again the Chinese were the market gardeners and supplied the miners the same as in Winton. Now there is only a plaque were there were 18 market gardens and a Chinese Temple.



This is the 'Dunny out the back' , and the next one is a miners cottage.

This afternoon we went to Lake Belmore and met a guy who lent us his binoculars to see 3metre crocodile on the far side. There were thousands of ducks and it was quite bro.

No TV here so it's Yahtzee tonight! Brian won last night.
