6th July A day in Normanton

His majesty had 'Bacon & Eggs' for breakfast and then walked the whole town! Took him 45 minutes!
I did the chores and then planned the rest of our trip. It was quite fun, checking mileage and how many days we could stay in places. After approval .... We phoned and booked the next 3 stops. Croydon for 2 nights, Mt Surprise for 3 nights, then at Atherton Big4 Ccaravan Park - stay 5 nights and pay for 4. Thank you that suits us just fine. Only 155k tomorrow so nice & easy.
During the afternoon we drove out to the Hospital and there was a little Wallaby on the front lawn of one of the staff accommodation houses. The Information Centre was very interesting, they had a great collection of Singer sewing machines just like I grew up with at Mums. We went to this 'crummy' looking shop which was the main shop in town and a big surprise, it was VERY well stocked with just about anything you could want. Mind you it all cost at least double because we are so isolated.
On to see the Railway Station ang it is by far the prettiest place in town. The train only goes between Normanton & Croydon & is called The Gulflandaer. We should had checked it out on the first day and had a short trip on it. Oh well, next time.
We have a very nice couple next door from South Australia and they are into Rifle Shooting and 3 of the family have contested in both Olympic & Commonwealth Games.  Very interesting encounter.
