12th July Atherton on a beautiful Sunday

Awoke to another wonderful day (we have now been told this is the first fine day they have had for a week) Breakfast outside, Brian went for an exploratory walk and I went to the Baptist Church. Warm welcome, great singing and the fillin Pastor  was exceptional (theirs was on holiday) his topic was on part of the parable of the sower & his presentation & material were enthralling.
Home for lunch then off sight seeing - Historic Herberton Village, it was the best of its type that we have seen. Sovereign Hill doesn't come up to it. There is sooo much to see that you get a 3 day pass just by asking for it. It cost $25 each and was WELL worth it. We plan to go back.
On then to Mt Hypipamee National Park and Crater and Dinner Falls. This required quite a walk......WELL it was for me!! 350metres!  But it was on a good path and in Rain Forest. Oh, God has given us so much beauty, what a privilege to see it all. We had walked miles & miles around the Village first so my poor dainty little feet are still throbbing!
The Crater is a wonder in itself and we evidently had timed it just right because on the walk back the sun and moved and the view wasn't so spectacular with sun shining through the trees..
What a wonderful day, we will sleep well tonight.
Photos are self explanatory.
